Have you ever wished you could play a tune on your cello at a family (zoom) party or a gathering of friends? Do you own a cello and wish to build your repertoire? Music is for sharing! On the second Saturday of every month from March to June you will learn three tunes in each class. Each month you will receive the sheet music of the three tunes for the next Saturday class. At the end of the course you will have a repertoire of twelve tunes to play for any occasion. You will also learn how to create your own music in the Celtic style. These classes will be recorded and edited (speaker view) so if you can’t make the live event you can revisit them in your own time.

FAQ

I am a beginner. Can I join this course?

The pieces I will be teaching are almost all in the 1st position. If you are comfortable with that then you can join. I will not only be teaching 12 tunes, but giving cello technique and practice tips to improve your all-round playing: Posture, sound, intonation etc.

I have been playing the cello all my life. What will I get from this course?

I will be catering to all levels:

Beginners will get the basic tunes and cello tips.

Intermediates will also pick up some ornamentation and rhythmic changes.

Advanced players will also try alternative fingers and bowings with added chords.

Everyone will improve their cello playing as I have been teaching for 30 years and I know what really works!
